Liquid glass sealing in pictures

You have already heard about liquid glass sealants, but can’t really imagine anything about it or wonder if this product is the right one for you? In keeping with the motto “I’ll believe it when I see it”, we would like to use a few examples to show you how uncomplicated and versatile liquid glass is.
In the following, we present various liquid glass products in the form of videos, so that you can get an idea of what they can do and what advantages they bring:

Liquid glass sealing in the bathroom

Almost everything in the bathroom can be sealed – from the tub to the mirror to the windows. In this video, an example is demonstrated using the sink. At a sink are countless residues and deposits that form in everyday life: Soap, fingerprints, lime. Before the liquid glass can be applied, the surface must be cleaned absolutely residue-free – as shown in the video – preferably with ethanol, as this dissolves all grease compounds. The reason for the intensive pre-cleaning is the incredibly low thickness of the liquid glass coating. This is about 100 times thinner than a human fingerprint. Thus, before applying the sealant, it must be ensured that the pre-cleaning has been carried out conscientiously. After cleaning, the sink is rubbed dry with a separate cloth to subsequently now apply the liquid glass. A small amount is enough to seal the entire wash jaw. After 10 minutes of waiting, the coating is polished to remove excess and to obtain the expected gloss of the surface. After approx. 24 hours, the sealant is cured and can be used as usual.

Liquid glass sealing of smartphones

Pretty much everyone owns a smartphone these days. Unfortunately, these little wonder machines are very sensitive – the display gets scratched quickly with daily use and is actually constantly dirty from fingerprints, grease, etc. In the next video you will see how to protect your smartphone from dirt, grease and the finest scratches in the future:
  • Right at the beginning of the video, you will see that everything necessary for cell phone sealing is included in one convenient kit. This includes:
  • Glove to avoid fingerprints
  • An ethanol-soaked cleaning cloth
  • Polishing cloth
  • A liquid glass cloth for sealing
The smartphone is only ever held by the hand the glove is on during use to avoid new fingerprints – these are thicker than the liquid glass coating and would prevent the correct seal. After pre-cleaning, the display is rubbed dry and any residual marks or grease are removed in this way. Here, only one side of the microfiber cloth should be used – the other side will be needed later to polish the sealant. The next step is to unwrap the cloth soaked in liquid glass and – as in the pre-cleaning – rub it all over the smartphone. All around it can be sealed with liquid glass. Today, the backs of cell phones are often made of glass. After min. The surface of the smartphone is polished for 30 minutes – the seal is ready. In the video you can see the advice that it is advantageous to let the liquid glass harden overnight – follow this recommendation, because the more resistant the protective layer will be afterwards.

Graffiti protection with liquid glass

This video should be especially interesting for cities and municipalities or even for aggrieved property owners who have already had to experience contamination by graffiti sprayers. The colors of the “artists” are persistent and penetrate the concrete or stone when sprayed. As a result, it is a very costly and time-consuming affair to have the graffiti removed, which usually has to be done professionally. The video shows the comparison with two concrete bricks: One stone is completely sealed with liquid glass, the other is not. Now, as a counterpart to the color spray, a cross is painted on the respective stone with a sharpie. Here, too, you can see immediately – with the untreated stone, the black color soaks in immediately, the cross is clearly visible. In the case of sealed stone, the paint cannot penetrate the liquid glass, which means there is no adhesion. The cross is therefore only pale visible and can only be removed with water without leaving any residue. You try this in vain with the untreated brick in the video. The same is true for other paints – because they cannot penetrate the surface of materials coated with liquid glass, it is easy to remove them and thus protect walls, house facades, etc. for up to 20 years. In the video you can see how easy to seal the concrete: An even application with a brush is enough.

An all-round protection by liquid glass for stone and concrete

The sealant presented here is not only effective against paint, but equally protects concrete and stone from moisture and weathering. Many stone and concrete surfaces can be treated with stone sealing to protect them from external influences. This includes, for example, terrace, garage, house facade, etc.. The liquid glass sealant penetrates up to 25 mm deep into the stone and hardens within one day. This forms a protective layer that prevents moisture from being absorbed by the stone. Thus, moss, algae and mold growth is prevented, yet the protective layer is breathable, allowing the stone to continue to “breathe”.

Liquid glass sealing of glass panes

This video describes two variants to seal glass panes. A pane was divided into two halves by adhesive tape for demonstration purposes. The left half should be treated with Universal Sealer, the right half with the special product Glass Ceramic Sealer. First, the entire glass pane is cleaned with ethanol – this is the well-known, common procedure before liquid glass is applied. Pre-cleaning is always the most important aspect of sealing with liquid glass. The liquid glass is applied with a cloth for both products. Glass-ceramic sealing requires even greater care and precision than universal sealing. Until the cloth is dry, rub the glass. After a waiting time of 10 minutes, the glass pane is repolished on both sides with a microfiber cloth. An important note is mentioned in the video: The universal sealant is already cured after approx. 10 hrs. Glass-ceramic sealing, on the other hand, requires twice the waiting time, a good 20 hours, before the surface can be used as usual. In the industry there is also, among other things, the possibility of heating the air and thus bringing about an immediate cure. The shelf life of the special sealant is significantly longer than that of the universal product, but the latter is just as sufficient for short-term applications.

Water-based car paint sealant with liquid glass

In this video it is shown very clearly how easy and fast the sealing of a car works. Here, too, the initial focus is on pre-cleaning the surface. This is the be-all and end-all of any sealing, since on the one hand no dirt should be trapped by the liquid glass, and on the other hand there is a risk that the coating will not be able to cross-link over the entire surface, since most dirt particles and grease residues are thicker than the liquid glass sealant itself. Biosativa cleaner is used, which thoroughly cleans the car from all dirt and grease. It should be noted that the car is dirtier in certain areas than elsewhere, and therefore one or the other repetition of the pre-cleaning may be necessary. This is followed by the application of the liquid glass. Here you should be quick, because it dries quickly and otherwise more of it is needed. Normally, however, just 50 ml is enough to seal a complete car. Paint, window pane, plastic cover – everything can be rubbed with the product with the help of a cloth. Afterwards, a bucket of water is now poured over the sealed car in the video. Immediately, the lotus effect becomes visible – within a very short time, all the water rolls off. No drops, no water marks are left behind. The durability of the water-based car paint sealant is 2-3 months. There are also products that protect the paint for up to 12 months – the application is the same here.

Conclusion

If you watch the videos, you will see that the principle of application of liquid glass sealant is the same for almost any material: A conscientious pre-cleaning, proper and quick application of the liquid glass, re-polishing if necessary – done. The result is the lotus effect, where water beads off, can no longer penetrate the material and dirt no longer adheres. Cleaning is greatly simplified by the protective layer – water is usually sufficient. In addition, the treated surface becomes significantly more resistant to impacts and scratches. We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have on the subject of liquid glass.
